Now Available the Dodeca 2360 Camera System

Sim Video is pleased to announce that we have become an authorized rental agent of Immersive Media’s flagship product, the Dodeca® 2360 camera system.

The Dodeca system garnered loads of attention while being featured at Sim Video Toronto’s June Camera Showcase for its unique ability to capture high-resolution video from every direction simultaneously to create 360 degree viewing experiences. This is the same camera technology that allowed Google Maps to create their famous “street view” images.

More recently, the Dodeca 2360 has been used to create a variety of interactive online and mobile content including commercials, promos and even music videos for pop icons like the Black Eyed Peas. The system was also used by the CBC during the 2011 NHL Playoffs to create a unique online user experience where visitors could follow the game in real-time, viewing any angle on the ice or scanning the stands for fan action.

As the world’s first 360°, full motion camera, the Dodeca 2360 delivers 100 million pixels or 30 frames per second and supports a number of video formats. At 2.5 lbs, the camera is highly portable and offers a variety of mounting options for auto mobiles, helicopters, backpacks and rigging equipment for any filming requirement. The optional underwater housing appears seamless in captured video and allows cinematographers to explore at depths of up to 150 feet.
